OSAKA CASTLE
Hideyoshi built the Osaka Castle in 1583. He had designed most impressive castle ever in Japan. One large moat surrounded whole castle, and there were only two ways to cross it. There was a small bridge that could be defended easily or even destroyed. The second was climbing to reach the large main keep that was 3 levels above moat. Attackers would have to climb three high stone walls and over 3 sets of turrets to get to inner grounds. In 1615 it fell to Tokugawa forces. Then in 1620, the entire castle was renovated and new main keep was added, making the castle bigger and better than the original. Later, it was struck by lightning and burned down.
